Robert "Kibby" Kibler

Robert Lee “Kibby” Kibler, 84 of Westville Lake Road in Beloit died at 8:35 AM on Friday, July 30, 2010 at his home following an extended illness. He was born on November 14, 1925 the son of the late Fremont Edward Kibler of New Galilee, PA and Pearl Irene (Rohrbaugh) Kibler of East Palestine. He grew up as a farmer and went to Courageville School. Robert worked for Bettis Box, Royal China of Sebring, and Paul A. Kintz Construction as a cement mason. Kibby poured concrete jobs at Stark County Jail, Marlington High School, Dalton High School, four new buildings at Mount Union College, B&W Research, Morgan Engineering, Alliance Machine, Salem Post Office, Sebring Fire Department, additions to the Alliance and Salem Hospitals, two new telephone buildings in North Canton and Minerva, Greer Steel in Dover and Joan of Arc in Massillon. After leaving Kintz Construction, Kibby was the owner of Beloit Precast Concrete where he poured for people all over. He also worked at Transue and Williams in the hammer shop as a heater, retiring in 1985. After his retirement Mr. Kibler went back to work as a guard at American Steel Foundries in Alliance. Kibby took pride in his family, work, lawn and gardening. He was a light weight boxer and liked all sports; he was an avid Cleveland Browns and Sebring Trojans basketball fan. The last two years he enjoyed spending time with his youngest great grandson Brandon Lee Kibler. Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary (Briggs) Kibler whom he married on April 1, 1962, two daughters; Aldora Lynn Jeffers of Lisbon, OH and Roberta Lee Kibler of Alliance, two sons; Lawrence Lee (Terri) Kibler of Fort Lauderdale, FL and William Lee (Pam) Kibler of Starkville, MS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Thomas, Alisia, Kurt, Patrick, Kristofer, Brian, Michelle, Richard and Kimberly, five great grandchildren; Brandon, max, Hanna, Conner and Alicia, two great great grandsons Brenden and Caine, one brother Edward Kibler of Alliance, one sister-in-law Nancy Bader of Massillon, one niece Beverly Estes, two nephews David and Jason Throckmorton, two great nieces Leigh Ann and Chelsey, three great nephews Damon, Chad and Ray, one great great niece Faith and one great great nephew Jordan. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his oldest son Robert Lee “Butch” Kibler Jr. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Mark E, Hostetler and the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice for their wonderful care and support. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Mathewson of Granville, OH officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-8PM with the family present from 6-8PM. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
