Robert Virden Sr

Robert L. Virden Sr. of Sebring, Ohio passed into eternity on Monday morning February 11 at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on November 2, 1917 in Sebring to the late Porter and Leo (Hindall) Virden and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was an Army veteran who served his country in World War II. He retired from his maintenance position at Mount Union College and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and participating in Boy Scout leadership activities. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Alliance.. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Shuster) Barrett Virden of Sebring whom he married on Feb. 2, 1973; a sister Donna (Roy) Weigand of Beloit, and two brothers Warren (Donna Jean) Virden of Phoenix, AZ; and Clifford (Mary Dawn) Virden of Indiana; a daughter Kathleen (Virden) Rinehart of Beloit and three sons Charles (Elsie) Virden of Unity, OH; Robert (Elaine) Virden Jr. of East Canton and John (Kathy) Virden of Beloit. And three step children; Pamela Robinson of Sebring; Ray Barrett of Woodsville, Oh; and Kay (Paul) Moser of Heath, OH. He will be missed by grandsons Glenn, Adam, Peter, David, Ben and Mike Virden; Thomas and Aaron Robinson, Jeffrey Moser and Ray Barrett Jr. and his granddaughters Mary Ann Wike, Cheri Nagy, Patty Parson, Mary Sue Duris, Connie Bergstrom, Nicole Moser and Christina Wilson along with 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Mr. Virden , in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by a son David W. Virden, a sister Mary Lou Wilson, a brother Gerald Virden and granddaughter Jennifer Robinson Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday Feb. 15th with Rev Bishop Richard Duston officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm with the family present from 6 to 8 pm, Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
