Roger Shafer

Roger L. Shafer, 53 of Alliance died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital. Mr. Shafer was born in Salem the son of the late Ovard and Shirley (Roberts) Shafer. Roger graduated from West Branch High School in 1974 and worked for the Alliance Drive Thru and the Friendly Express Marathon in Alliance; he loved to bowl and play billiards but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Many people will remember Roger as a fun loving, easy going guy that would be there to help you when you were in need. Roger is survived by his two daughters; Casey Shafer of Boardman, Kylee Shafer and a granddaughter Kaidence Hurford both of Alliance. He is also survived by his sister Jean Kuhl of Fredericktown, OH a brother JD Shafer of DeWitt, MI, a sister Linda Dawalt of Anderson, IN, a brother William Shafer of Indianapolis, IN and one niece and one nephew. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew Matthew. A memorial service will be held Friday August 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Peters officiating.
