Ronald Bates

Ronald Lee Bates, 50, of Alliance died suddenly on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital. Ronald was born in Alliance on July 9, 1959 the son of Oral Bates and Betty L. Bates-Mikes. Ron Lived in Alliance his entire life and attended Stark State College. He loved sports including softball and was and avid fan of football. Survivors include his mother Betty L. Bates-Mikes of Alliance, father Oral Bates of Salem, two daughters; Heather (Rob) Porter and Justine Bates, a son Ron Bates of Parma, a grandson Treven Porter, a sister Renee (William) McGrath, six brothers; Mike Mikes, Ray (Jackie Larkins) Mikes, Rayce (Chris Yoho) Mikes all of Alliance, Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Bates, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Bates, and Danny Bates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his companion Joyce Hollenbaugh and her sons Fred, Frank, David, Bobby and a daughter Spring. Ronald was a warm hearted person who would give whatever he had and will be sadly missed by all that knew him. A Funeral Service will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Kimball officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 10th from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alliance City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
