Roy T. Colbert, 69 of Salem passed away at his home on Friday, January 21, 2011. Roy was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 23, 1941 the son of the late James and Ruth (Adams) Colbert. He served in the Army, overseas after the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal. Roy was employed at General Motors and Baker McMillan. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Gudrun (Groth) Colbert whom he married on February 16, 1966; children, Roy Colbert Jr., Claudia (Mark) Harshman, Willi (Judy) Colbert; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Delores (Bill) Oldham, Gloria (James) Butler, Doreen (Richard) Johnston, Nancy (Ken) Morris, Ruth (Cookie) Adams; brothers Jim (Donna) Colbert, Gene (Mildred) Colbert. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law Doris (George) Ling. Arrangements include cremation with burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
