Roy Gowen

Roy Gowen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 72 in Beloit, Ohio. Born on March 15, 1952, in Alliance, Ohio, Roy lived a life filled with love and dedication to his family and community.

Professionally, Roy made his mark at Fresh Mark in Salem, where he dedicated many years of his life. His hard work and commitment earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. Outside of work, Roy enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He found great pleasure in fishing and golfing, often spending time outdoors and relishing the beauty of nature. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with his family, creating countless memories that will be cherished forever.

As a devoted family man, he is survived his beloved wife, Mary Ann (Lockner) Gowen, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. He was a caring son to his mother, Lillian Fox, and a proud father to his children: Shane (Sheree) Gowen, Kevin (Janna) Gowen, Kim (Paul) Salmen, Virginia Parks, and John Richmond. Roy was also a doting grandfather to 15 grandchildren and had the joy of being a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. Roy will be remembered by his sisters, Jean and Shirley. He was predeceased by his father, a son Jeff, and brothers Tom Gowen and Charles Gowen.

A funeral service will take place, Monday, January 6, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Mark Reich officiating. A time of gathering will take place the hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
