Russell Hahlen

Russell H. Hahlen, 85, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Minerva Elder Care Center. Russell was born on February 2, 1925 in Alliance, the son of the late Harvey and Laura (Zimmerman) Hahlen. Mr. Hahlen was a retired mechanic from the West Branch School District. He was formerly employed by the Reichenbaugh Cheverolet, and the Paul Kintz Construction. Russell was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ and the VFW # 6730 in Sebring. He was also a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy. Survivors include a sister, Ruth Fenton of Columbiana; niece, Lois Ann Ward of Minerva and a nephew, Robert Hahlen of Beloit, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, who passed away in 2004; a daughter, Cindy Kay Hahlen who died in 1967 and 2 brothers Dale and Glenn Hahlen. After cremation burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. There are no services or visitation planned Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
