Russell Shaffer

Russell C. Shaffer, 87 of Columbiana and formerly of Salem, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Russell was born in Salem on August 20, 1923 the son of the late Russell and Nelda (Clark) Shaffer. Mr. Shaffer was a graduate of Salem High School and was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. Survivors include his two sons; Gary Shaffer of Columbiana and James Shaffer of New Waterford, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary K. Shaffer in 2006. Arrangements include cremation and burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Thursday, September 16th at 11:30 AM.
