Russell Wilson

Russell Dane Wilson, 89, of Beloit passed away at Vibra Hospital on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Russell was born in Salem on May 5, 1925 the son of the late Marion Robert and Elsie M. (Speidel) Wilson. He was a truck driver for PIE Trucking, retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service. Russ was a member of the Teamsters and was a mason. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, collecting coins, and was a true fan of West Branch and Mount Union.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Wright) Wilson whom he married on December 2, 1950; a son Mark Robert (Laura) Wilson of Louisville, KY; two daughters Kathy (Alex) Costa of Beloit, Patty (Paul McConville) Wilson of Rochester, NY; six grandchildren, Josh Costa, Joe (Jessica) Costa, Dane Wilson, Graham Wilson, Mika Wilson, Brigid Wilson and two great grandchildren Hannah and Jack Costa. He is also survived by two brothers Thomas (Bernie) Wilson of Beloit, Donald (Phyllis) Wilson of New Garden; two sisters Dorothy (Norman) Zimmerman of Salem, Jenny (Gary) Lanning of Canton and a sister-in-law Mary Wilson of Alliance. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Michael, three sisters Maxine (Lester) Hawkins, Annice (Homer) Messer, Ruth (Homer) Stryffeler, a brother Richard and an infant brother Woodrow.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Haan Phelps officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday October 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Hope Cemetery, Salem.
