Ruth Gable

Ruth Irene Gable, 87, of Beloit, went to be with her Lord August 6, 2013 at her home. Ruth was born on June 24, 1926 in Darlington, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles John and Florence (VanKirk) Eckman. Mrs Gable worked in toy sales for Friendly Homes of Albany, New York from 1977 until her retirement in 2006. Ruth attended Alliance Baptist Temple and Beloit Friends Church and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. She enjoyed crocheting and yardwork, and loved her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter Kathy Rinehart of Beloit, two sons, Robert L. (Elaine) Virden Jr. of East Canton, John P. (Kathy) Virden of Beloit; sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Cedrick N. Miller of Tennessee and two sisters Melissa Barrett of California and Beverly Albright of Georgia. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald G. Gable in 1992, three sons Charles F. Virden, David W. Virden, David Gable, a brother Wayne C. Eckman, and a sister Dolores Mae Wong. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday August 12, 2013 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Payne and Pastor Mark Reich officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Sunday August 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
