Ruth "Betty" Elizabeth Clair

Ruth “Betty” Elizabeth Clair, 98 of Canton and formerly of Sebring, passed away on Monday, morning, March 7, 2016 at Canton Christian Home.  Betty was born in Sebring on July 29, 1917 the daughter of the late Robert and Edna Reed she was a graduate of Sebring Local Schools and during her lifetime worked at Erb’s Restaurant in Alliance as a server and baker; she retired from Alliance City Hospital as an Administrative Secretary in the Nursing Dept.  Mrs. Clair was a member of Beechwood Christian Church, she enjoyed knitting, reading and baking but most of all she enjoyed her family.

Betty is survived by her son Jim (Margo) Clair of Alliance, two grandchildren Jennifer Jacobs and Christopher Clair, two great grandchildren Zachary Clair and Courtney Clair as well as two sisters; Edna Walker and Helen Bream. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Silver Clair, a son John and a sister Kathryn Goddard.

A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home at 11:00AM with Rev. Mark Black officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10-11AM at the funeral home.   Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery; Sebring, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Beechwood Christian Church 12950 Easton Street NE, Alliance, OH 44601.
