Sally Howard, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Alliance, Ohio. Born on September 27, 1939, in Sebring, Ohio, Sally lived a life rich in service, love, and faith.
A proud graduate of the 1957 class of Sebring McKinley High School, Sally further pursued her passion for caring for others and graduated from the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing. Her nursing career at Alliance Community Hospital was marked by her unwavering commitment to her patients, embodying the empathy and compassion that define true nursing.
Sally's interests were diverse and reflected her vibrant spirit. She enjoyed reading and traveling, finding joy in new experiences and stories. A member of the Red Hat Society, she valued friendships and social connections, often sharing laughter over playing cards with her dear friends. Her faith played a central role in her life, as she attended Sebring First Church of the Nazarene, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir and found solace in listening to Christian music. She was an avid fan of the Game Show Network, always keen to engage with the challenges presented on her favorite shows.
Most importantly, Sally cherished her time spent with family. She is survived by two children, Todd (Sheila) Howard and Cathy Howard, and three grandchildren, Dustin (Amy) Howard, Haley Howard, and Casey Evans. She was a proud grandmother to ten great-grandchildren: Wyatt Howard, Emma Byrd, Adam Archibald, Damien (Autumn Nitz) Cooper, Lyam Howard, Jasiah Evans, Jaleeah Evans-Smalls, Jailiana Evans-Smalls, Jexas Evans-Smalls, and Jermias Smalls, as well as a great-great-grandchild, Novah Nitz. Sally is also survived by her brother, William Hughes Jr., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory forward.
Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Howard, who passed away on June 3, 2009, and her daughter, Christine Howard, who left this world too soon on June 27, 1990. She also mourned the loss of her brother, Kenneth Hughes, her brother, Kenneth Brooks, a sister-in-law, Linda Brooks and a sister-in-law Rose Hughes.
