Sandy L. Emig, 56, of Deerfield passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic. Sandy was born in Salem on April 26, 1956 the daughter of Bill and Bonnie (Shane) Irwin, she was a graduate of Walsh University with a degree in Nursing; she worked as an RN at Alliance Community Hospital and Alliance Visiting Nurse Association, she was most recently employed at Pet Supplies Plus in Alliance as a Groomer. Sandy attended Damascus Friends Church and loved all kinds of animals and being outside in nature, she enjoyed dancing, all kinds of sweets but especially ice cream. Her most precious time was spent with her family. Survivors include her mother Bonnie Irwin of Beloit, two daughters; Stacy McMahon of Canton, Holly (Mike) McMahon Schenk of North Georgetown, a son Aaron McMahon of Cleveland and three grandchildren; Michael, Piper and Kelly Schenk.. She is also survived by her brother Mike (Kathy) Irwin of Alliance, her Aunt Emmabelle (Gene) Peterson of Homeworth, three nephews; Jason, Evan and Ryan Irwin. She was preceded in death by her Father William “Bill” Irwin, an Uncle Gary Irwin and her grandparents; Bessie Cranston, Ford and Louise Shane, Ruth Ann Timmerman and Walter and Shirley Irwin. Services will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 4:00 PM with Pastor John Ryser officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4PM. Memorial Contributions can be made in Sandy’s honor to Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Road Canfield, OH 44406.
