Scott James Kurena, 72, of Beloit passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his home. Scott was born in Salem, Ohio to the late Russell James and Gloria June (Wyss) Kurena. Scott was a 1970 graduate of West Branch High School. Following high school Scott worked as a truck driver for Superior Dairy for 20 years and also worked for TDDS as a teacher and most recently First Energy as an instructor. Scott was a member of Bethel Church of Christ.
Scott had a touch for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and tending to his plants in his greenhouse. He took great pride in his yard especially mowing. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and attending the local truck and tractor pulls. His family was the most important, always attending his kids sporting events or just being there to support them. He especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren who he adored. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and the memories will be cherished forever by all those who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Cindy (Neiswanger) Kurena who he married on July 5, 1975; his children Todd (Ashley) Kurena, Adam (Kindell) Kurena, Heather (Justin) Jones and Ashley (Kevin) Stull. He also leaves behind his eleven grandchildren; two brothers Bryan (Betty) Kurena and Troy (Dana) Kurena and his sister Gayla (Denny) Wutrick.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home, Sebring Chapel. Friends and family will be received the hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A live stream of Scott's services will be available by visiting his obituary page. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Scott's honor To Rockin' Out Cancer, 2080 Ashcreek Ave. Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.
