Thomas E. Whitford, 69, of Sebring passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home. Thomas was born on March 5, 1947 in Jamestown, NY. to Curtis E. and Geneva (Abbott) Whitford. He graduated from Jamestown High School and was United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and an avid golfer. Thomas enjoyed reading, playing games, and loved watching the Cleveland Indians, spending time with family and friends, especially his loving wife Sheryl, whom he adored.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl (Johnson), who he married June 22, 2002; son Douglas Whitford of Buffalo, NY; daughter Kimberly (Steven) Maynard of Baltimore, MD; step daughter Christina (Michael) Stanhope of Kinsman, OH; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Roger (Mary Ann) Whitford of Falconer, NY; sisters Janet (Allen) Klenck of Falconer, NY and Marilyn Swart of Mentor, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kristine and his first wife Joan.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. David Parry officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one half hour prior to the service at 1:30 on Friday. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Oaks Foundation Life Care Fund, 715 Johnson Rd., Sebring, Ohio 44672.
