Victor "Vic" Burgess

Victor “Vic” E. Burgess, 78 of Beloit passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 29, 2010. Vic was born in Sebring on November 11, 1931 the son of the late Victor and Opal (Craven) Burgess; he attended Bluffton College and Mt. Union College; he was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Burgess retired from B & W Research as a Technologist after working for 39 years; he was a member of Damascus Friends Church, the Beloit Ruritan Club and the Alliance Horseshoe Club. Survivors include his two daughters; Vicky Burgess of Sebring, Kathy Burgess of Ontario, Canada a son Michael Burgess of Alliance, four grandchildren; Brian Burgess, Laura Burgess, Hannah Burgess and Zen LAfond. He is also survived by a brother Paul Burgess of Sebring and his best friend and business partner Marian Wartluft of Beloit. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marcheta (Watters) Burgess on May 4, 1999. A Private Family Service will be held with burial in Damascus Cemetery.
