Wanda M. McKinney, 88, of Salem passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital. Wanda was born in Webster Springs, WV on April 5, 1925. She worked as a nurses aide. Wanda was a member of First Friends Church, Eastern Star, enjoyed cooking, canning, reading and singing. Mrs. McKinney is survived by two sons, Donald (Debra) McKinney of Salem, David McKinney of Canton; a daughter Deborah McKinney Miller of Salem; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence Elmer McKinney who died in 1988, two sisters, Mary and Hazel, three brothers Homer, Willard and Orville and a grandson PFC E3 Brian McKinney. A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home in Salem with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday July 2, 2013 from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
