Waneda Spencer

Waneda J. Spencer, 86, of Alliance, passed away on June 27, 2013 at Alliance Community Hospital. Waneda was born on March 27, 1927 in Chapel, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William H. and Mable L. (Case) Carpenter. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a member of the Rebekah Ladies, but attended Truth Baptist Church. Waneda was a graduate of Carnation Beauty College, a 5th degree member of Smith Grange for over 20 years, and enjoyed crafts and crocheting. Survivors include her two daughters, Rebecca J. “Beckie” (Roger) Schillig of Garrettsville, Ohio, Deborah J. Spencer of Alliance; three sons, William Robert “Bob” (Brenda) Spencer of Salem, Milton Earl (Kim) Spencer of Salem, Raymond Eugene (Ruth) Spencer of Alliance; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Linda Carr of Kensington and a brother Otha Carpenter of Alliance. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond “Pete” on July 14, 1988, three sisters, eight brothers and a grandson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday July 1, 2013, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Roy Teague and Pastor James White. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Sunday June 30, 2013 and the hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Atwater Cemetery.
