Wayne B. Griffith, 87, of Beloit passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Alliance Community Hospital. Wayne was born in Alliance on March 11, 1923 the son of the late Mahlon and Hazel (Delzell) Griffith; he graduated from Goshen High School in the class of 1942; he served in the US Army as an MP in the 42nd Div. was a member of the North Georgetown American Legion and the Sebring United Methodist Church. Mr. Griffith was a Carpenter by trade and had worked on buildings at Kent State, Hiram College and the Ravenna Arsenal; he retired from Morgan Engineering in 1984. Wayne enjoyed being outdoors (especially working in his garden) he liked to play cards and visiting with family, friends and his neighbors. Survivors include his wife Marie (Crewson) Griffith whom he married on March 20, 1947 of Beloit, a daughter Coleen (Michael) Hamon of Sebring, 3 grandchildren; Eric Hamon, Todd (Angela) Hamon, Lindsay (Joshua) Richards and a great grandchild Madison Richards all of Cuyahoga Falls. He is also survived by two brothers; Mahlon (Betty) Griffith Jr. of Salem, Eugene Griffith of Damascus and a sister Patricia (Richard) Manning of Norton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Keith and Richard and a great grandchild Courtney. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 1:00PM with Rev. George Schreckengost officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 11th from 2-8 PM with the family present from 6-8PM. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
