Willard “Woody” Diver, 89 of Sebring, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Crandall Medical Center. Woody was born in Deerfield, Ohio on Nov. 4, 1917 to the late Lawrence and Jessie (Welch) Diver. He is survived by his two sons; Duane (Kathy) Diver of Warren and Ken (Linda) Diver of Sebring, four grandchildren; Joe Diver of North Carolina, Sarah Costello of Canton, Jeremy Diver of Sebring and Andrew Diver of Columbus. Woody graduated from Deerfield in 1935 and worked at Strong Manufacturing from 1936 to 1943 and served in the US Navy from 1936 to 1945 stationed in San Diego, CA as a Petty Officer 1st Class and a Metalsmith 1st Class. He was the Owner/Operator of Sebring Industrial Plating from 1954 until his retirement in 1993. Woody was a member of Deerfield Friends Church and Sebring VFW Post 6730. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Mae Diver on Dec. 16, 2003 and several brothers and sisters. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday June 4th at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Jody Hill officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Woody’s honor to the Copeland Oaks Life Care Fund, 800 South 15th Street, Sebring, OH 44672.
