William Leroy (Beckett) Beckett

August 29, 1935 — January 13, 2022

William L. Beckett, 86 of 4575 Bandy Road in Homeworth died peacefully at Aultman Hospital at 6:45 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He retired from the Alliance Babock and Wilcox Tubular Company in 1992 where he worked as a foreman in the finishing department . William proudly served his country as a communication center specialist in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. During his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He found much joy in sharing his military experiences with his grandchildren as they became older. William was an avid sports fan. He had a special love for the Cleveland sports teams. He never missed watching his beloved Indians and Cavaliers. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Shriners organizations. He had the world's best sense of humor. He was known to have a joke for every occasion and was not shy to share them over and over with new audiences. Most importantly and nearest and dearest to his heart was the love he had for his family. Anyone who knew him expected to hear the latest story about his children and grandchildren. He has been known to frequently stop strangers to brag about them and their accomplishments.

He is survived by his daughters: Tonya (Frank) Edie of Homeworth and Alisha (Doug) Burke of South Bloomfield. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Matthew, Kaityln and Andrew Edie and Emily and Elizabeth Burke. He was proceeded in death by the love of his life, Thea Jane as well as his brother, David John Beckett.
