William Thomas Doolan, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on October 6, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio, to the late William J. and Irene (McFerren) Doolan, William lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a knack for bringing joy to those around him.
William's life was a testament to the bonds of family, having been preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie L. (Wolfe) Doolan, who passed away in 2015, and his son, Stephen T. Doolan. His legacy continues through his children, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Doolan and Michael (Kim) Doolan, his cherished grandchildren Brent, Stephanie, Stacey, Dawn, Niki, Trishia, Michael, Brittney, and his twenty-three great-grandchildren who will forever remember their grandfather's warmth and support.
A hardworking and loyal employee, William dedicated over five decades of service to the Genie Company as a Tool and Die journeyman. His commitment to his work was evident in his many years of schooling to become a journeyman. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were unparalleled, setting an example for all who knew him. After retirment William worked at Sebring Trophy with his son Jeff, where his craftsmanship and business acumen were evident.
Outside of work, William's passions were many and varied. He was often found dancing with his wife at the VFW, a place where they shared countless cherished moments. His love for golf allowed him to enjoy the serenity of the outdoors, while his role as a coach for his children's baseball and basketball teams showcased his leadership and his belief in the power of sports to teach valuable life lessons. A huge sports fan, William relished watching and betting on various sports, with a particular fondness for supporting all the local sports teams.
William's love for his family was evident to all who knew him; his children and grandchildren were his everything. His presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort, and his guidance and wisdom were the cornerstones upon which many family decisions were made.
A funeral service celebrating the life of William will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Reich officiating.
