William Dorsey

William Russell (Bill) Dorsey Jr., 65, of Hazard, Kentucky, died at The Hazard Medical Center on Wednesday, Jan. 2nd, 2008. He was born in Alliance on July 7, 1942, the son of Wm. Russell Sr. & Betty Louise (Patterson) Dorsey. Bill was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Beloit. He was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. He was employed as a truck driver for Godsey Trucking in Hazard, KY. Survivors include his wife Phyllis (Salyers) of Hazard, KY. He is also survived by his children William G.; Troy A.; and Roy E. Dorsey all of Illinois; Daughter Bettyjean (Kevin) Droney of Jessup, MD; son Irvin O. (Karen) Stiffler Jr. of Homeworth; daughter Christine (Roger) Huskins of Beloit; sons David (Dina) Smith of Hawaii; Danny (Misty) Smith of Lake Arthur Louisiana; Tony (Tina) Smith of Hazard , Ky; James Brewer of Hazard Ky.; 3 sisters Judy E. Dorsey; Betty L (Dave) Porter and Janet M. (Rick) Gindlesberger all of Alliance; 3 brothers David A. (Shirley) Dorsey of Bethel,Oh.;Kenneth R. (Angie) Dorsey of Houston, TX and Dale R. (Cindy) Dorsey of Alliance; 26 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death his parents, his first wife Barbara A. (Carpenter) Dorsey on October 14, 2000, a brother Robert Gerald Dorsey, a sister Barbara A. Francis and 3 infant siblings. Funeral Service will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday January 12, 2008, with Rev. James White officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral home on Friday the 11th from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present 6 to 8. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
