William "Bill" Helsley

William “Bill” D. Helsley, 77, of Alliance passed away at his home on Thursday, July 21, 2011. Bill was born on February 10, 1934 in Hollidaysburg, PA the son of the late William and Lucille (Knorr) Helsley; he worked at the former Armour now SanCap Company for over 20 years and in 1975 started his own company called Hand-E-Man. Mr. Helsley was a member of the Community Bible Church; an avid baseball, softball and basketball player; was a fan of the West Branch Sports program and enjoyed going hunting and fishing at their cabin with his family, but also like spending his spare time with his friends at the Burger Hut. Survivors include a daughter Sandra “Sandi” (Todd) Korte of Salem, a son Scott (Necole Carlisle) Helsley of Amsterdam, a son William “Billy” (Coleen) Helsley of Beloit and a daughter Lori Welsh of Louisville. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; Gregory Helsley, Karen Cunningham, Michael Korte, Dale Welsh and 9 brothers and sisters; Bob Helsley, Dave Helsley, Joe Helsley, Rick Walter, Pat Stanley, Carol Isenburg, Linda Robinson, Debbie Gardener and Kim Shaffer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Patricia (Walter) Helsley on February 25, 2011, a sister Shirley and a brother Ron. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Doran officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-8PM with the family present from 6-8PM. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
