William Hoffman

William V. Hoffman, 67, of Homeworth, passed away at Alliance Community Hospital at 2:37 a.m. on January 28, 2008. He was born on July 17, 1940 in Beloit, Ohio, the son of the late Virgil C. and Amy Virginia (McCracken) Hoffman. William was a graduate of Sebring McKinley High School class of 1959 and is a member of the Science Hill Community Church in Alliance. He worked as a self employed painter and was a past member of the Homeworth Lions Club, a 45 plus year member of the Beloit and Homeworth Volunteer Fire Departments and the West Branch Band Boosters. He enjoyed woodworking and repairing antique furniture and loved going to auctions. He is survived by his wife Jean (Honaker) whom he married on Jan. 27, 2006; a daughter Denise (David) Hartman of Alliance, twin sons William A. (Patricia) Hoffman of Homeworth, Brian S. (Joanne) Hoffman of Louisville, two step-daughters Denise (Shawn) Rebuck of Louisville and Grace (Jared) Mederer of Columbus, a step-son Eric (Nicole) Mann of Louisville. He is also survived by a sister Elva Summers of Sebring and a brother Richard Hoffman of Marysville, 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 31, 2008 with the Rev. Jonathon Truex Officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 8PM with the family present from 6-8PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Science Hill Community Church or the Homeworth Fire Department. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
