William Mcferren

William P. McFerren, 85, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Altercare of Louisville. William was born on Feb. 9, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio the son of the late Walter and Nettie (Wendel) McFerren. He worked at Morgan Engineering for most of his life. William was an avid golfer, he was always working on his "swing". He was known as "Laughing Bill" to his fellow golfers. William enjoyed traveling and exploring the great outdoors. But most important to him was his love for his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years Norma (Morrison) McFerren, three daughters; Mary Lou Helsley, Tammy Milat, and Lorie Bagnall, He is also survived by a brother, James (Marge) McFerren, five grandchildren; Gregory Helsley, Matthew Milat, Joshua Milat, Kristina Robinson, Jamiee Denihan, and nine great-grandchildren. Besides his parents William was preceded in death by his sisters; Mae Doolan, Rose John, Irene McElroy, Margaret Severance, Jean Blake, and Betty Vernon; two brothers; Walter McFerren, and Ronald McFerren.

His extended family consisted of four step-children; Karen (Kenny) Butler, Whitey Herzog, Kelly (Corena) Albert, Kathy (Wayne) Young. His step-grandchildren; Marla Albert, Stacey Shreiner, Aaron Herzog, Zachary Herzog, Laine Shreiner, Kendra Butler, Kelsey Albert, Kaylee Young, Kyle Albert, and five great step-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit with Pastor Randy Payne, of Alliance Baptist Temple officiating. Due to the recent virus quarantine, the family requests only family and close friends attend (with proper social distancing) the service will be Live Streamed on the funeral home website at 1:00 PM under Williams obituary link. Friends and family can also send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio.
