William Stockburger

July 13, 1928 — December 15, 2013


William “Bill” R. Stockburger Sr., 85, of Alliance, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Sunday December 15, 2013 at his home. Bill was born on July 13, 1928 in Alliance, the son of the late Percy and Elsie Stockburger. He was a very active member of Westville Community Bible Church and held many offices and served 18 years as moderator during that time. He volunteered 16 years in the snack shop at Alliance Community Hospital. He also volunteered at AASC for 9 years. He enjoyed Golden Oldies, camping, traveling, was also a loyal Indians and Browns fan but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Bill was a 1947 graduate of Alliance High School and a 1950 graduate in engineering of the Salem Trade Extension School. He retired from Morgan Engineering Company in 1984 after 37 ½ years and continued his career at East Ohio Machinery and S.E.S.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Viola (Ward) Stockburger of Alliance, whom he married June 12, 1948; children, Bill Jr. of Beloit, David (Debie) Stockburger of Jasper, Indian, Holly (Steve) Woolf of Westville Lake, Lori Ann Stockburger of New Waterford; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Betty.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at Community Bible Church on Wednesday December 18, 2013, officiated by Rev. Rod Doran. Friends may call the two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund Community Bible Church 18146 US Rt. 62, Beloit, OH 44609.
