William "Bill" Tuel

William “Bill” H. Tuel, 77, of Maple Ridge passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 following a fall at home that led to surgery complications. Bill was born in Maple Ridge on December 28, 1933, the son of the late Archie Leonard & Velma Dora (Mangus) Tuel and lived his entire life there. He was presented with a plaque in 2010 for being the Oldest Original Living Resident born in Maple Ridge. Mr. Tuel retired from Alliance Machine and started his own business restoring Model T and Model A car bodies. His business grew to the point of shipping car bodies and parts to several countries over the years. Bill loved to spend time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He loved to fish, and spend time in his garden, always making sure he made his yearly batch of sauerkraut to hand out to his kids and grandkids at Christmas. Flea markets, woodworking and traveling to places like Alaska, Disney and Niagara Falls were some of the many things he loved to do. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie “Marge” Juhn Tuel with whom he just celebrated 37 years of marriage on June 8th, children; Kimberly Tuel Yoder of Canton, Randy (Anita) Winters of Chino, CA, Paula “Polly” (Bill) Graef of Uniontown, Deb Lambert of Salem, and Amy (Dave Vuchkovich) Koch of Wilmot, 20 grandkids, 28 great grandkids and 6 great-great grandkids. He is also survived by a brother Tim Tuel of Beloit. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Ron & Butch, a sister Marge Schaeffer, son, Rick Winters, a Granddaughter Julie Runion, Son-in-laws, Bob Lambert and Ernest Koch and Nephew Kenny Schaeffer. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made throughout the years. “Now, whatcha wanna do…” Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00AM with Rev. Doug George officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home in Sebring.
