Betty Jean Peterson 89, of Sebring passed away on Monday October 31, 2022 at Canterbury Villa in Alliance, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Beloit, Ohio on March 13, 1933, the daughter of the late Carl and Stella (Furbee) Handy. She was a 1951 graduate of Beloit High School. Betty married Jack R. Peterson on June 15, 1951, to whom she was married 64 year before his passing in 2015. She was known for her beautiful cake decorating and flower arranging but most of all enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, David R. (Linda) Peterson of Damascus, Daniel P. (Michele) Peterson of Beloit; three daughters, Deborah (John) Kale of Akron, Elizabeth Eckley of Alliance, Jacqueline (Tom) Doyle of Orrville, her loving friend and caregiver Janet Ford; fifteen grandchildren: Randy Carpenter (Rebecca Catalano), Jennifer Webster, Michael (Theresa) Seruch, Carrie Foran (Terry Boyd) Stefani (Brian) Waseman, Joseph (Carson) Hollar-Kale, Tiffany Seruch, Teresa (Mark) Spoonholtz, Matthew (Beth) Doyle, Beth (Kevin) McBride, Steven Doyle, Gina (Gary) Premier, Danielle (Ashley) Peterson , Tom Doyle Jr. and eighteen great-grandchildren, Kayla Leeson, Anna Webster, Lauren Webster, Dante Seruch, Donovan Seruch, Timmy Foran,Tyler Spoonholtz,
Ryleigh Spoonholtz, Madison Spoonholtz, Adam Brown, Nathan Doyle, Warren Doyle, Sydney and Andrew Powell and Madeline Doyle and thirteen great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Louise Huntsman of Alliance. Besides her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Handy, a son-in-law Harry Eckley and a great-granddaughter Emily Waseman, and a granddaughter Brenda Powell,

Per Betty's wishes a private family Service will take place with Pastor Freddie Rodriguez officiating. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's honor to Alliance Hospice, 200 East State St, Alliance, OH 44601. The family would like to thank Patty Simmons, Alliance Hospice and Dr. Lehrer of Hospice and The Staff of Canterbury for their care and compassion.
