Grace E. Bennett, 93, of Homeworth, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 10, 2023. Grace was born on September 10, 1929 to the late Glenn and Elsie (Dwyer) Duvall. On September 8, 1948 she married Jessie "Bill" Bennett and celebrated 70 years of marriage before his death in 2018.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband and two brothers. She is survived by three daughters: Joan Bennett, Barbara (Randy) Adams and Jesanna Bennett; three grandchildren Randi Lynn (Tim) Burwell, Stacy (Bob) Schlabach and Tyler (Olivia) Bennett; great-grandchildren Cessna Henry, Kolton Adams and Christopher Phillabaum and happily expecting a great grandson this summer. She is also survived by her only sister Donna Bandy; several nieces and nephews and her extended family that loved her deeply and many friends.
Grace had worked at the former Sherwood Manufacturing Company and at her husbands side at JB Cleaning Company in addition to being a housewife and mother. She loved to bake, crochet, crafting and quilting but her passion was sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved every minute of it, from the smallest job to a wedding gown. She sewed for many friends and neighbors in spite of her crippling effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Grace was a kind and loving person and everyone that knew her loved her. She suffered from many health problems, but she never let them keep her down- she fought to the end. She was a special person and her light will be missed in a darker world without her. To say she will be missed is hardly enough - heaven gained a special angel.
