Joseph M. Amabeli, 35, of Sebring passed away on May 18, 2022 in Canton, Ohio. He was born in Alliance on September 26, 1986 the son of Joe A. Amabeli and Jane (Geffert) Amabeli. He was a graduate of Sebring McKinley High School and received his associates degree from Youngstown State and currently worked as an officer for Alliance Police Department and former officer for the Sebring and Smith Township Police Departments. Joe "Mabs" was very involved in his community and active in service organizations. He was a current member of the Sebring Village Council, the Sebring Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, a liaison for the Patrolman's Union, and Field Training Officer. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring, Homeworth Masonic Lodge #499, Tadmor Shrine Valley of Akron, the Alliance Shrine Club and served as the treasurer of the Flag Unit. Joe was an avid sports fan specifically anything Ohio State its football program and band. He enjoyed spending as much time with his friends and family especially being in the pool with his kids and being outside working in the yard. He will be remembered for many things but definitely him always saying " I love a good project".
Survivors include his wife Jenna L. (Householder) whom he married on August 9, 2014, children Joseph Tyler and Victoria Rose, his father Joe (Kim Davis) Amabeli, mother Jane Amabeli, two sisters Ashley (Ben) Anderson, Lindsay (Mike Burrier) Cheney, five aunts Arlis (Frank) Skivolocke, Marilyn Brannon, Linda Geffert, Janet (Adam) Gerkin and Teressa Stull, his wife's grandparents Phyllis Smith and David (Donna) Householder his father and mother-in-law Todd (Lori) Householder, his brother and sister-in-laws Ross (Stephanie) Householder, Ty (Parker Ruff) Householder and Alyssa (Cory) Kopis, former brother-in-law Kent Cheney, nine nieces and nephews; Landon,Kenedi,and Tanner Cheney, Scarlett and Collin Anderson, Jackson and Colson Householder, Silas and Elias Kopis and many cousins, friends and his pets Benny, Cruiser and Miranda. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Tony and Rose Amabeli his maternal grandparents Joe and Mary Geffert, three uncles Joe Geffert Jr., David Geffert, and Bob Stull.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring, The Mass will be live streamed on the funeral home website please click on Joe's link and follow the prompts to watch. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26th at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM a Masonic Service at 4:30 PM and visitation with the family present from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Memorial contributions can be made in Joe's honor to Danny's Cans or Shriner's Hospital.
